Treehouse on the water - a special Airbnb stay in NH

I am constantly on Airbnb looking for unique stays. I crave the calmness of being on the water combined with a place that will make for some excellent photos. Add in a sprinkle of a real wood burning fireplace and a gorgeous view to watch sunsets and it is a WIN WIN! Well that is what this place had. All of the above!

It was a perfect getaway in Dover, NH which was a short 3.5 hour drive from home in Upstate, NY. Along the way I found some abandoned vehicles to photograph for my photo series “In the Weeds”.

We stayed for two nights and I wish there was two more nights! I felt so calm there. I would awaken in the morning, brew my coffee and then head out in a hoodie to listen to the birds chirp and sip my piping hot coffee.

At sunset we had a gourmet cheese platter that I made Halloween/Spooky themed. We sipped on the most delicious Strawberry flavored champagne and watched the sunset from the base of the treehouse. The table is a Lobster trap which I loved.

The treehouse itself has three levels. The top level is where you can sit in the hanging hammock chairs or lay back and swing in the two hammocks. There is a dumb waiter basket to bring your treats up to the top level.

Inside the Airbnb there was a fabulous wood burning fireplace with plenty of complimentary firewood to grab from the side of the house. There was a sink where we washed our dishes and a mini fridge. I brought a waffle maker and made us APPLE PIE waffles the one morning and it was such a delight to eat them in front of a roaring fire. It was PURE FALL VIBES!

The upstairs has a huge bed along with a chaise lounge and the view overlooks the water and the treehouse.
The bathroom shower is HUGE! Two shower heads and a ton of space to take a nice hot shower.

As we entered into the Airbnb I found the cutest little pumpkin in birch tree branches so I took a photo with my iPhone. I love little details like this.

In between the house and the water is a patio area with a propane fire pit and wicker couches and chairs.

We walked over the bridge the one evening after a big dinner that left our “bellies” full. It is a left turn right out the front door. The area felt very safe and was serene. During the day you can take the kayaks out (wear your preserver per guest rules) and paddle to a private island where there used to be a saloon back in the day.

  • My recommendations:
Bring a pancake or waffle griddle and some pancake/waffle mix for breakfast

  • Bring a good book to read in the treehouse

  • Go to the candy shop not far right in Dover NY called “Lickee's & Chewy's Candies & Creamery” and get a milkshake

If you book there tell Andra that Lorraine sent you and make sure you fill out the guest journal that I made the very first journal entry in! Here is the Airbnb link to her property:

Have a happy day,
